Trust His path.

Updated: Nov 24, 2018

Psalm 32:8 (NLT) “The LORD says, “I will guide you along the best pathway for your life. I will advise you and watch over you.”

Such a great verse right?

I can vividly remember the very first time that I came across this verse. I had just finished praying and when I opened my Bible, BOOM, it was right there. I remember feeling a mixture of happiness, contentment, and peace, because in that moment, I was reminded that I didn’t have to figure everything out. I didn’t need to worry about my future, because God promised that He would lead me along the best pathway for my life, advise me and watch over me. Back then, I had assumed that this best pathway that God would lead me on would be easy. I actually thought that this would be the path of least resistance. I assumed that God would illuminate the path if it ever became dark and show me when there would be any bumps in the road ahead.

I was wrong.

What God has taught me in my life since I discovered this verse was that yes, He will lead me along the best pathway for my life, but no, this pathway won’t always be easy. In fact, it can be very difficult at times. Despite popular belief, the Christian journey was never meant to be easy. In fact, Jesus told us that in this life we WILL have trouble. (John 16:33) Some days, the path will be dark, other days, you may not know if you have the strength to move forward. In some instances, you might even feel afraid, but in the midst of it all, God will be right there advising you and watching over you. He is there beside you, and He will take you to your destination safely.

I hope that this encourages someone today that might be struggling with hopelessness, confusion, fear, or uncertainty in regards to where you are going, or about your life in general. Remember that your Heavenly Father is guiding you along the best pathway for your life. No, this pathway won’t always be easy, but it’s on this path that God will not only teach you how to trust Him, but produce in you endurance and perseverance.

God is right there walking beside you. Will you trust His path?
